BIOGRAPHY

Walter Louis Jones, Jr. (02/22/1943- ) was born in Durham, North Carolina. He enrolled in Eastern Carolina University in 1961 and from there, went on to attend Cranbrook Academy of Art from 1965 to 1967. Jones has won several awards, including the New York State Council on the Arts Grant in 1973. He has exhibited his work on a number of occasions, including a showing at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1986, and many of his pieces are in collections across the United States in such venues as the Exxon Corporation, the AT&T Corporation, IBM, and the Springfield Art Museum in Illinois. He has taught at the University of South Carolina, Skidmore College, the University of Idaho and Louisiana State University. [Source: LC pulled from AAM website 9.6.18]
