"Stone Roberts (1951- ) was born in Asheville, North Carolina and currently lives and works in New York City and Stonington, Connecticut. Roberts earned a BA degree from Yale University and studied art at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and in Rome. His richly detailed paintings pay homage to the old masters. They show his keen eye for detail, his sly wit and are clearly the work of a contemporary artist.
