BLACK MOUNTAIN COLLEGE COMMUNITY BULLETIN
Monday, April 13, 1942

Announcements:
1 In the Nineteenth Annual State Dramatic Festival at Chapel Hill last week, Frances Kuntz won first prize in the costume plate contest for her drawings of the costumes for the production of The Highbrow Ladies, and the highest award in the costume contest for her creation of the costume for Masarille in the play. The Highbrow Ladies, presented on Friday evening, was judged the best play given at the festival.
2 Bob Wunsch has gone to Raleigh for a meeting today of the heads of all North Carolina Colleges and universities that have male students. This meeting was called by Federal officers for a discussion on the acceleration of educational programs in North Carolina Colleges. The federal session will be followed by an afternoon meeting of the North Carolina College Conference.
3 Edward A Norman, President of the Rural Settlement Institute, will arrive at Black Mountain on Friday evening, return to New York on Saturday afternoon.
4 Saturday will be clean-up day at Black Mountain College. Projects the rearrangement of materials and equipment in the large tool shed for the more effective use of this shed; also as a preliminary to enlarging it; the cleaning up the grounds around the new building, especially on the brook side; the general tidying of the property in line with the advent of Spring.

Alumni notes:
George Hondrickson is now in the Field Artillery was inducted into service on March 27. His address is A-5-2 F.A.R.C., Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Visitors:
Mr and Mrs Tom Leonard of New York City. Mr Leonard is making a photographic study of the college.
