College year 10 Bulletin 13

CALENDAR
The faculty will meet, without the student officers, in the Kocher Room at 4:30 this afternoon.
Bob Marden will give a fifteenth minute news summary and commentary this evening at 6:25 in the lobby of North Lodge.
Tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o’clock the Music Department will give a concert for the Associated Music Clubs of Asheville in the ballroom of the George Vanderbilt Hotel.
The Speaks Committee will meet tomorrow at 1:15 o’clock in the Round House to plan a program for the remainder of January and all of February.

There will be a meeting of the community on Wednesday evening at 8:00 o’clock in the Dining Hall to continue the discussion begun at the general meeting last week.
“Shadows of Nothing”, a full-length play by Erik Haugaard, will be read aloud on Wednesday evening after the General Meeting—probably beginning at 9:45 in Bob Wunsch’s study.

FACULTY NOTES
“The Goddess Fortuna in Music”, by Edward Lowinsky, appeared in the January 1943 issue of The Musical Quarterly.

AUMNI NOTES
Derek Bovingdon was graduated from the Army Air Forces Advanced Flying School at Douglas, Arizona, on Monday morning, January 4. He is now Lieutenant Bovingdon.
Mary Rose Riegger was married to Harold Aks, private, United States Army Air Force, on December 24, 1942, in Urbana, Illinois.

A CLARIFICATION
The Board of Fellows at a meeting this afternoon recommended the following—in view of the general misunderstanding resulting from the announcement last week about the “Rehabilitation Committee”:
That the committee named (Kurtz, Miller, and Straus) be enlarged to include also Marilyn Bauer and Gisela Kronenberg and its function be limited to trying to obtain here next summer the American Seminar of the American Friends Service.
That the Speakers’ Committee make plans with the teachers in the Social Sciences Department for a panel or panels during January or February on Post-War Planning.
