Excerpt from a letter from Private Claude Stoller, Pr Det #2, Fort Casey, Washington: “When I got my first two month’s pay in a lump sum, I realized that thought what I wanted to do with it was clear, the way in which to do it wasn’t. That is, I want to save my money to finish college after the war. The college I have in mind (il va sans dice) is BMC. So, instead of putting my money in a bank, or investing it in bonds, if I could ‘invest’ it, so to speak in BMC, towards my future tuition, it would simplify things. Or would it? I don’t know, it’s only an idea, but if enough of the college’s students in the armed services did the same, mightn’t it make some difference in BMC’s financial status?”
